At each stage of this project, I was deliberately left in the dark about what the next step would be. This meant I approached each task with nothing to influence my approach - I was not thinking ahead at any stage; only focussing on what I was going to create in that moment. All the information and direction I had for the first week was that I was to experiment with creating the letters of the alphabet with different materials.
For the second week of the project, my goal was to turn my letters into a full font.
Here are some of the experiments I did using folded paper for one full alphabet and experimenting with clips, headphone wire, hand cream and books for other possible alphabets.
Overall, I decided I liked the letters I had made out of toilet rolls were the most dynamic and would be the most legible to turn into a black-and-white font.
Here is my finished full alphabet. I decided to name it "Bog Rolled".
For the third week of the project, I used my typeface to create two posters - one to present each letter and another representing the process I went through to make it.
Here are the two final posters I created utilising my Bog Rolled typeface.
